QSAR 2008
The 13th International Workshop on QSARs in the Environmental Sciences
June 8-12, 2008
Syracuse, NY USA
http://www.syrres.com/qsar2008/"International Workshops on QSARs in the Environmental Sciences,” has been at the forefront of developments in predictive methods since the first Workshop was held in 1983. It is now a highly anticipated biennial event and is returning to North America after most recently being held in Lyon, France and Liverpool, England. The theme for the workshop (Credibility · Purpose · Opportunity) highlights both the importance of QSARs in addressing environmental issues in a changing world and the challenges that lie ahead.

In Memoriam
JOHN G. KELLER
1928 – 2007Few professionals could boast of a more intensely varied scientific experience in toxicology than John Keller, our good friend.
He could speak with authority on so many subjects, lacing his thoughts with a veil of irony that some mistakenly found puzzling. In truth John could not see himself as a dogmatic scientists. Despite the breadth of his understanding, he was consciously humble about it, and in his way he was inviting others to be also humble. Many who were to know him well became his admirers and had a deep appreciation of his capacities, as testified by so numerous high level appointments and decisional functions he was invited to lead over a professional career spanning half a century.John was a kind man, solicitous and concerned of those around him, attached to his loving family, his wife Connie, and their many daughters of whom he was so proud. His often tart sense of humor was never stinging, and his laugh was contagious. For many years his challenging wisdom and counsel, and his sense of urgency helped guide key decisions of the ISRTP Council.
John will be remembered by his friends, many of whom – if he could speak - could hear him saying now ‘I may be gone, but let’s move on, there is work to do…’THE ISRTP COUNCIL
